Hack Day

Co-hosted by Yahoo! and the BBC, we helped raise the roof (literally) on a weekend that will be remembered for a long time by more than 350 of Europe’s most talented web developers and internet engineers.

Run by developers for developers, Hack Day kicked off with a bang when a bolt of lightening struck the roof of Alexander Palace, London in the early hours of Saturday morning.

Not to be put off by a little water (even if it was pouring through the roof), everyone carried on as if the sun was out and joined forces to sit under umbrellas and do ‘whatever it took’ to get stuck into coding. Twenty-four hours later, they had ‘hacked’ together all sorts of wonderful mash-ups that truly demonstrated the diversity and flexibility of web applications.

Find out more by typing ‘Hack Day Europe’ into your browser and watch out for pictures of hardened hackers coding away under umbrellas.
